October 2009
Dear Residents of Sourdough Fire District,

Fall and the coming of winter brings many changes. Among them a change in leadership at Sourdough Fire. After 12 years of service, Brian Crandell has submitted his resignation as fire chief of our department.

Brian’s work brought our department to a high level of competency and customer service. We are extremely grateful for his innumerable hours of service to the residents of Sourdough Fire District. We know you will join the trustees and staff in thanking him for that service and in wishing him well.

Assistant Fire Chief J.D. Engle will assume the duties of fire chief. He has served nearly twenty years as a firefighter and the past fifteen of those in a command capacity with Sourdough Fire Department. He is extremely capable, and I know you will join our firefighters in both supporting and thanking him for stepping up to assume these new responsibilities.

Our fire chiefs, like our firefighters, serve without pay as volunteers to support our residents 24/7 in their time of need. In any emergency you will receive help by dialing 911.

Sourdough Fire Board of Trustees
